God is good, God is great, let us thank Him for our food. Amen.
Blogito ergo sum! Actually, as N.T. Wright averred, "'Amor, ergo sum:' I am loved, therefore I am." Among other things, I am a Roman Catholic deacon. This is a public cyberspace in which I seek to foster Christian discipleship in the late modern milieu in the diakonia of koinonia and in the recognition that "the Eucharist is the only place of resistance to annihilation of the human subject."

Thanksgiving
Eucharist is merely the Greek word for thanksgiving. So, in a very real and non-trivial sense, for us Christians, everyday is thanksgiving day as we gather around the Table of the Lord from East to West so that a perfect offering can be made to the glory of God's name. Writing about the communion of saints, today is the memorial of St. Cecilia.

I hope you're having a wonderful Holiday, Scott. We've got a house full in Maytown, - from all over the USA and its been a great visit. More coming tomorrow. Hate to see it end, cause we don't see one another enough.
ReplyDeleteLots to be Thankful for.
God bless,
Tami
There is always a lot for which we should be thankful- everything, even difficulties. I am glad you are having a nice holiday. Don't try to hold on to it, just enjoy.
ReplyDeleteGiven the pace of our lives, Thanksgiving is always low key. I went for a long walk, just my wife and I. Then, we all went and ate with my parents, my youngest sister and my niece. We all played a few games, talked, played with my littlest guy, read. All-in-all a nice, quiet day of gratitude.
