Snow

It's snowing. The landscape is transfigured!

Apropos of certain phenomena forever transpiring in the world, I make the plea of the psalmist in Psalm 43, the opening lines of Morning Prayer today, my own: "Defend me, O God, and plead my cause against a godless nation. From deceitful and cunning men rescue me, O God."

Veni Sancti Spiritus, veni per Mariam.

  1. It would be nice to "transfigure" ourselves, to be able to be a more understanding person than yesterday. Allowing our experiences to be our growth.

  2. We are incapable of transfiguring ourselves. We need God's help, which he gave through his Son, who, in turn, gives us the Holy Spirit. Of course, our cooperation is required. which first means recognizing the Christ is the object of our desire.

  3. Just as it is impossible for the landscape to transfigure itself?
G.K. Chesterton was right about understanding being a matter of language.

  4. Chesterton could not have been more right in this instance.
