"We hold these truths to be self-evident..."


UPDATE: Today is also Canada Day, eh. So, as a shout out to our friends up North, Frank, over at Why I Am Still Catholic, has a great April Wine song, I Like to Rock. Of course, we can't forget that the guys from Rush hail from Canada, as does Neil Young. In short, Canadians know how to rock, too. Consider it a twofer


Next up in our Friday series of rock songs about rockin', in honor of the Fourth of July weekend, and with a deep diaconal bow to my dear friend, Dan, is Night Ranger with You Can Still Rock in America. Know what? All these years later, you still can rock in this great country of ours, ah yea, alright! Happy Fourth, keep it safe.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." On my admittedly idiosyncratic reading, the pursuit of Happiness not only includes the right to rock, but implies it!
