Blogito ergo sum! Actually, as N.T. Wright averred, "'Amor, ergo sum:' I am loved, therefore I am." Among other things, I am a Roman Catholic deacon. This is a public cyberspace in which I seek to foster Christian discipleship in the late modern milieu in the diakonia of koinonia and in the recognition that "the Eucharist is the only place of resistance to annihilation of the human subject."

Baptism of Evan Gabriel
On Saturday morning, 6 August 2011, Evan was baptized in The Cathedral of the Madeleine by Bishop Wester. It was a glorious day, truly beautiful, one of those times that help me get everything in perspective.
On this Feast of the Transfiguration, I felt like one of the three apostles who accompanied Jesus up the mountain and saw for myself, making me a witness, which I have been many times over. I do not know why the Lord chooses people like me, except that any light I bring has to come from Him.
