Blogito ergo sum! Actually, as N.T. Wright averred, "'Amor, ergo sum:' I am loved, therefore I am." Among other things, I am a Roman Catholic deacon. This is a public cyberspace in which I seek to foster Christian discipleship in the late modern milieu in the diakonia of koinonia and in the recognition that "the Eucharist is the only place of resistance to annihilation of the human subject."

Prayers needed
Please put my father-in-law, Al, in your prayers. He is in ICU in Columbus, Ohio, the nearest city to where he lives. He suffered two heart attacks, the second one yesterday. Being the stubborn old farmer that he is, he did not seek help until the second attack, but just kept working. It looks like he is out-of-the-woods this morning, but he needs all the prayers he can get.

I will pray. Sounds a lot like my dad (who pulled through years ago).
ReplyDeleteI met him at Adam's baptism, right?
ReplyDeleteI will pray.
Tamara and I will keep him in our prayers
ReplyDeleteThank you all. The update this evening has him doing well. Prayers are effective.
ReplyDeleteYes, Rebecca, you met him at Adam's baptism. He is the reason we did it on an odd day at an odd time. He had not been present for the baptisms of any of our other children.
When my wife and I were seriously dating, but not yet engaged, he out of the clear blue sky and without me asking helped pay my tutition one term in college. He is just that kind of guy.
Good to here he is doing well.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers for him and all the family.
ReplyDeleteColumbus isn't so far from me. Is Holly there, now? I am praying, too.
ReplyDeleteWe had friends who attneded Steubenville U quite a few years ago now. Holly used to visit them when she viisted her Dad. She is still home. Al is doing well. He is home, but we're still waiting to get word about surgery. If he has surgery, she will be there.
