"O magnum mysterium"

I can think of nothing more fitting for the first Friday traditio of 2015 than "O Magnum Mysterium." This is from Night Prayer, or Matins, for Christmas. This setting is by U.S. composer Morten Lauridsen and beautifully sung by Kings College Choir in Cambridge, England

Virgin Mary, by El Greco, ca 1585

O great mystery,
and wonderful sacrament,
that animals should see the new-born Lord,
lying in a manger!
Blessed is the Virgin whose womb
was worthy to bear
Christ the Lord.
Alleluia!
